Funds Help to Keep Hikers on Track at Gray's Creek Conservation Area

Blair Hiseler, Union Gas utility services manager for Cornwall, presented the cheque to RRCA General Manager Richard Pilon and Communications Coordinator Lissa Deslandes on October 31st along the trails at Gray's Creek Conservation Area.
The Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) manages Gray’s Creek Conservation Area, located just minutes east of Cornwall, in the Township of South Glengarry. It offers over 5 km of hiking trails that are in need of an updated trail map and directional trail signage to better serve the public. This grant from Union Gas will help the RRCA with this necessary update.
Gray’s Creek can be explored year round allowing for trail users to benefit from various activities such as cycling, hiking and walking their dogs both on the nature trails and the paved bike path. Geocaches are also hidden within the trail system. During the winter, snowshoe rentals are available at the main. Gray’s Creek also has a family park with picnic area, shelter, kids’ play structure, and charcoal BBQ that may be reserved for company and/or family gatherings.
“We want to ensure these trails are well marked for users of all levels and those unfamiliar with the conservation area” states Richard Pilon, RRCA General Manager.
