The Gray’s Creek Marina owned by the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) will re-open for business starting Saturday, May 16, 2020 in response to this afternoon’s announcement by the province that marinas, boat clubs and public boat launches may open for recreational use.

“We know our boaters are eager to get back on the water and are thrilled they are able to do so just in time for the Victoria Day long weekend.  We have procedures in place to ensure the safety of our customers and staff,” states Richard Pilon, RRCA General Manager.

The Gray’s Creek Marina, located strategically at the mouth of Gray’s Creek, provides boaters immediate access to the St. Lawrence River.  Seasonal, monthly, weekly and daily boat slips are available along with daily and seasonal launching passes.  The 2020 Marina opening, initially planned for April 27, was delayed as part of the COVID-19 provincial emergency order.

The province also announced today that campgrounds may open to enable preparation for the season and to allow access for trailers and recreational vehicles whose owners have a full season contract. Starting next Tuesday, the RRCA will allow seasonal campers to setup their trailers at Charlottenburgh Park.  Camping will not be permitted until further notice.

The RRCA’s network of nature trails at their 3 Conservation Areas (Gray’s Creek, Cooper Marsh, and Charlottenburgh Park) are open; however, all amenities remain closed.

“We are proud to offer many local opportunities for the public to access and get up-close with nature.  We appreciate everyone’s cooperation during this time and we remind all of our customers and visitors to follow the safety measures in place to continue to reduce the spread of COVID-19,” adds Pilon.
