Dust of your camping gear and floaties – Charlottenburgh Park will be open for day-use admission and transient camping starting Friday, June 26!
Managed by the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA), Charlottenburgh Park is located on the St. Lawrence River near Summerstown, just a few kilometres east of Cornwall. The Park offers a beach, nature trails, camping sites, and more! Surrounded by trees and wildlife, un-serviced and serviced lots offer campers an opportunity to relax and connect with nature.
Precautionary measures are in place to protect visitors and staff including enhanced cleaning frequency of showers and washroom facilities. Visitors must follow COVID-19 directives from public health officials, such as ensuring a 2-metre distance from others and to stay home if they exhibit COVID-19 symptoms. Although most amenities are open at the Park, playgrounds and camping cabins remain closed. Seasonal Park passes for day-use admission will not be offered this year as a reduced visitation capacity will be in place.
“We welcomed back our campers with seasonal permits on June 12 and look forward to welcoming the rest of the community just in time for their 2020 stay-cation adventures,” says Lisa Van De Ligt, RRCA Communications Specialist. Camping walk-ins will not be accepted this season; bookings must be made in advance. Starting June 24, transient campers can book their stay online at charlottenburgh.letscamp.ca.
The RRCA has also re-opened additional amenities at the Gray’s Creek and Cooper Marsh Conservation Areas, including the Gray’s Creek Marina which was opened on May 16. Visitors are encouraged to visit the RRCA’s website to view available amenities.
