Water Efficiency Team (WET) Program
Over several years the Water Efficiency Team (WET) Program has encouraged eastern Ontario homeowners to reduce water consumption by providing water efficient devices at no cost. It also provided homeowners bilingual educational packages that outline healthy water conservation practices and proper environmental stewardship as well as an opportunity to learn more about water wells, water quality, water testing, septic systems and related permits. In 2012 the WET program evolved into the WaterMark Education initiative. WaterMark now addresses several water quality and quantity related issues including Wells, Septic Systems, Fuel Tanks, Pesticide Use, and water friendly Farm Management Practices. It does this through community workshops and resource material. Funded in part by the Eastern Ontario Water Resources Committee, WaterMark is delivered by the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) and is available throughout both the Raisin Region and South Nation River watersheds.
