The RRCA's Charlottenburgh Park in South Glengarry is a popular recreation spot for many area residents.

Campers and beachgoers rejoice! Charlottenburgh Park is now open for day-use admission and transient camping as Ontario enters Step 1 of its reopening plan.

Managed by the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA), Charlottenburgh Park is located on the St. Lawrence River near Summerstown, just a few kilometres east of Cornwall. The Park offers a beach, nature trails, camping sites, a boat launch and more! Surrounded by trees and wildlife, un-serviced and serviced lots offer campers an opportunity to relax and connect with nature.

“The return of transient camping and beach access at Charlottenburgh park is something many area residents were eagerly awaiting,” says Josianne Sabourin, the RRCA’s administrative assistant overseeing park reservations. “For many people, these outdoor activities, the fresh air and sunshine, offer a welcome antidote to the challenging experience of living through a pandemic.”

Visitors are required to follow COVID-19 directives from public health officials and must stay home if they exhibit COVID-19 symptoms. Seasonal Park passes for day-use admission will not be offered this year as a reduced visitation capacity will be in place. Camping walk-ins will not be accepted this season; bookings can be made online at
letscamp.ca/camps/Charlottenburgh-park. 

The RRCA’s Gray’s Creek and Cooper Marsh Conservation Areas, including the Gray’s Creek Marina are also currently open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to visit the RRCA’s website to view available amenities. 

“We are proud to offer many local opportunities for the public to access and get up-close with nature and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation in following the current public health guidelines,” adds Sabourin.
