Over 1,000 trees have now been planted at the Gambhir Memorial Urban Forest by students from Eamer’s Corners Public School through annual planting events with the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA). The 2.7-acre forest in the City of Cornwall was donated for perpetual preservation to the RRCA in 2015 by Dr. Indu Gambhir, who joined students on October 6, 2025, to plant 60 native trees and shrubs to the site. The Gambhir Forest is part of over 2,000 acres of environmentally significant land owned and managed by the RRCA to preserve habitat, increase tree cover, mitigate natural hazards, and provide eco-tourism opportunities.
