Controlled Tile Drainage

By using simple, adjustable flow control systems installed at tile drain outlet, farmers can restrict or eliminate outflow completely. Flow valves can be opened in the spring, allowing free drainage to improve aeration and facilitate field operations, and closed as needed in the summer to raise the water table and create water storage for crops. Without controlled drainage, water flows directly from tile drainage outlets into surface water.

Benefits:
•    Reduces nutrient and water loss from fields
•    Increases resilience to droughts
•    Improves crop yields
•    Lowers production costs
•    Extends grazing periods
•    Helps create uniform field conditions for early field work
