Local property owners looking to create, enhance or maintain grassland habitat projects on their land can now apply RRCA for funding at up to 100 percent of project costs, thanks to a new grant opportunity available through a partnership between the RRCA and Grasslands Ontario.
Property owner may apply by filling out an online form (please complete all applicable sections) or by contacting info@rrca.on.ca or (613) 938-3611.
To be considered for funding, projects must have a minimum field size of 10 acres, a minimum width of 200 metres, and be located in the RRCA’s watershed jurisdiction in eastern Ontario. Landowners must commit to not removing the project for a period of 10 years.
Grasslands can offer environmental benefits such as supporting biodiversity, providing habitat for threatened species such as the bobolink and eastern meadowlark, and mitigating climate change through carbon capture.
For more information, please contact the RRCA at info@rrca.on.ca or (613) 938-3611.
